The Channel Coach Purse

My daughter Morgan had been beg'n all last week for us to get this Coach purse. It is all the rave this year. The youngsters are out in droves just to get this purse. It is "THE" fashion item of the school year. We told Morgan that she would have to save up and buy it herself. Morgan cleaned her brothers room (Brandon doesn't have time/or just to lazy, so he pays Morgan.), did extra chores for her Grandparents, and after an alleged crime spree she had the money. She had done her part, we just could not do ours.
Last week couldn't have been the worse time for us. We had a relative in Hospice and spent a lot of our time there. Every morning Morgan would ask if we were going to get this purse. Every night we would tell her tomorrow.<---After reading up to this point I'm sounding like a woman. Switch'n to "Manly Mode"....

Operations Debrief "The Channel Coach Purse"

• Fri., 080808, 2330- Intel on place and time established. Rally Points and Evac routes put into place. BZ: Westgate Mall Time: 0900 Location: Channel Coach Reveille: 0730 time enough for the three "S" Formation: 0830 Oscar Mike: 0840 Preparation is the key to any successful operation. No small detail not covered. We even went over our "Black hawk Down" scenario. Broke down scale model, adjourned meeting, and TAPS was played at 2345.


• Sat., 080908, 0840- Oscar Mike without any Operational problems. I did not think Morgan could do it, she must really want this purse.


• 0857- In the Westgate parking lot


• 0900- **SNAFU** Incorrect M.I.G Intel!! Never fails! I have enough experience to know to never rely on 2ND hand sources.


• 0901- (Improvise Adapt Overcome) Stores inside Westgate mall do not open until 1000. McDonald's open!


• 0902- Chow time. "Improvise"


• 0910- Done with chow. Yep, (8) eight whole mins on chow. Morale is low! 50 mins to go and the troops ain't happy. Command decision, walk around mall and make fun of the mall walkers. "Adapt"


• 0911- Father Daughter time: Morgan can be a very colorful person. She always comes up with stuff that will cause me to laugh. She was in rare form with the mall walkers. She had many, but this is the one that I remember most: A large woman passed us on the outside. The woman had something on her beeping a loud rhythmic tone. Morgan with her eyes wide open, hands up in front of her body, and in an excited voice says "BREAK LEFT! The ship has a (radar) lock on us!" That is my girl!!


• 0950- Finished cry'n from laughing so hard from "(radar) lock" comment. "Overcome"


• 0958- In front of location. Angelic music plays in the background as the large gate starts to rise. I gently held Morgan's arm. I can see in her eyes she is thinking "I can either stage or an Indiana Jones slide under this slow @ss gate!" I let go only when the gate was completely up.


• 1000- Proud Daddy moment. It was crystal clear that my daughter performed her own "recon" on this store. She never broke stride, never looked away from the target, and she achieved our operational objective.


• 1010- Moved to Primary Rally Point


• 1012- Oscar Mike

What did we learn ladies and gents?

1. M.I.G (Mother In-law Glenda) intel unreliable. M.I.G as an Intel source scratched from future operations.


2. Morgan still has a smile on her face! If she was in the ARMY she would of gotten a patch. We are flying the "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED" banner outside the house.


3. To Morgan, Commander Daddy is "TANGO SIERRA"!


4. GET3 is happy.....
