Rethinking STR8 Arrow's 3RD and 4TH driver

STR8 ARROW has had some success over the years. It is not even half way through this season and I'm thinking on how to improve our team status. It goes without saying that Stewart and Dale Jr. will continue to be the backbone of STR8 ARROW. The all powerful at NASCAR says that we can only have four teams in our stable. A fifth team can run a limited schedule only for rookie drivers to help improve. OK, as co-owner of STR8 ARROW I believe that the other two spots, currently held by Edwards and Harvick, need attention. STR8 ARROW has had the team rule to pull for all of our driver's endeavors. Jr. in the Nationwide and Stewart with Outlaws. I think the rule may still apply to the Sprint Cup as well. I ask the board if this may apply to Newman? I'm starting to like the idea of pulling for the 39. The Army sponsor may hurt me, but he does still have HAAS as the secondary.I know that my fellow co-founder is waiting to see if Brad K.(F' trying to spell his last name!) moves up full time. It would be beyond AWESOME if SHR picked him up as a third driver. I know that would be an easier pill for CWF to swallow on the "Endeavor" rule. I know that Brad will probably drive the #5 next year. The chance of SHR picking up a third car is next to impossible. If the STR8 ARROW board allows the restructure next year, and of course contracts to go through, I think a huge shake up will happen.

NO BEARING ON CONVERSATION- JUST THOUGHT YOU NEEDED A REMINDER OF HOW BAD ASS THIS CAR IS.....

I'm thinking way ahead of myself but #14, #88, #5 (that would be fitting), and #39 could be the next work horses in the stable! I know that this would of course have to come to a board vote. We still have over 1/2 the season left to watch Tony Stewart win his third Championship, but great teams think way into the future. The memo is out. Lets kick the idea around a bit.....

You might can see where I paused my TV to take this pic. I wanted to have a picture of Chucks last fight. Chuck, you broke alot of hearts Saturday night. You went down quicker than a AMA envelope opener. My neighbor (Stephen) literally fell off his stool due to the unimaginable anguish he suffered. You were the Iceman, but the lack of preparedness has left you melted in the ring two times now!!!!! MMA is a harsh world that you have competed so well in the past. This is a young mans game and the fresh blood is going right over you like a speed bump at Target. I would like to thank you for the twenty dollars I won. I would also like to thank you for all the bloody entertainment over the years. Goodbye Chuck! I know I'll be seeing you soon. It might be at the next opening of a Dairy Queen, or beside Pete Rose signing autographs for spare change under a California bypass. That last statement was a bit harsh. Ok, going thru the mobile web and looking at some good ones. I come across the NASCAR mobile. I understand that you can do only so much on a 4 inch screen. Having the #24 as the default driver can be fixed. I'm not going to ban this site just yet. It does give me the results and the articles. BE WARNED!!! Get rid of the default driver all together. Don't make me come up there.....

Yes, it has been two years since Kyia has been born. Kyia is the daughter of Chris Fickling, my best friend since Jr. High, and is his world. I get to see her on occasions and she acts more and more like her daddy. The jury is still out on if that is a good thing. The above photo was taken with my new phone. I did not have auto focus turned on when I took this picture. The picture does not give Kyia her due. On the other hand it does help Fick out a great deal.

So, HAPPY BIRTHDAY Kyia!!!!! Blow out both candles really hard!!!!! No, you cannot wish to no longer see Uncle GET3!!!!! Can I suggest longer legs to drive the JEEP, or a better amp for the start of your music career.....

A spokesman for FIYHR held a press conference this morning. The sky was cry'n all around Mr. GET3 as he broke the news to the world. The world known guitar used to entertain millions passed away early this morning. Mr. GET3 with tears in his eyes, could have been rain, says "It was with friends and entertained us until it's last rock beat."
An autopsy will confirm Mr. GET3's suspicion of a red button preventing it from rocking. The world known guitar will be held in state for the world to morn.....

Now, I'm no great fortune teller. I will not come out with a book on the end of the world. I have looked into the future many times. Gran Tour 3 for an example comes to mind. GT3 for those of you not in the know. I've been accused of making up this next fact by my brother from a different mother. "NEW YORK--Sprint Nextel plans to spend $3 billion over the next two years to build a fourth-generation wireless network using WiMax technology.
The wireless operator said Tuesday that it is partnering with Intel, Motorola and Samsung Electronics to build the network and develop devices that will access the network.
Sprint executives said during a press briefing here that the company plans to spend about $1 billion on the network in 2007. It will spend another $1.5 billion to $2 billion in 2008. The new fourth-generation, or 4G, network is expected to go live in the fourth quarter of 2007. About 100 million people will have access to the network by the end of 2008, the company said." Now I could not get the proper link to work but the article said that this network is working in the major cities up north (WTF). It will be fully active buy the summer of '09 across the nation. Meet the future member of FIYHR! I say future member because he still is on Beginner, and the smallest FIYHR t-shirt I have is adult med. This is my Lil' sis's son. I will not give his name do to the stiff competition out there for talent. He is part of my new BAND Farm System. We take well adjusted kids and thrust them into the hard rock world of head bang'n and shred'n. Unfortunately the rock n roll all night and sleep all day part does not apply in my "Farm System". My sister has this crazy idea of a 9:00pm "BED TIME". Yea, I know, what is she thinking? She clearly gets this from her mother!! The one year training program may allow me to put him under contract. I will eliminate the "BED TIME" clause during negotiations.....

No matter if you like him or hate him one has to admit that good ol' Sam Walton knew his sh!t. Many of you know that I've been on a GHWT binge since Christmas. In that short span I have gone thru 1 guitar and 1 drum set. I'm on my third band set since Christmas. I thought that I would try an Activision return on my last drum kit. It has been two weeks and have yet to hear back from them. Wal-Mart has taken back both item without question. "Sure GET3 bring it in and we will switch it right out for you." and they did both times. I never bought one GHWT Band kit from Wal-Mart yet. The original one was purchased from Buy.com. It has been a running joke on how long this next set will last. If it lasts a week or 6 months I can still take it back to good ol' Sam. (Minus a Bass pedal or three.....)

Research for a cure.....

I know that millions are being spent on all kinds of research for all kinds of cures. The scientist are busy with problems that I know little or nothing about. When I hit it big and get that pay day from h3ll I'm going to search for a cure. I've seen this sickness when I was a child. I think what help me from catching it was when I moved into the sweet South Carolina air.
The Dallas Cowboys disease is one that should not be taken lightly. I tried to find the smallest pic. I could to represent the pill form I hope to accomplish. I'm looking to be published in a medical journal to get some federal grant money just in case I do not get that pay day. "You can do it. We can help." really touches home on this problem. I will admit my data does not show this problem growing. It appears that over the last ten years the Dallas Cowboys disease has been reduced greatly. That stat is what gives me hope that we can cure the very few people that show signs of this disease. I would like to thank the Pittsburgh Steelers for their contribution to the cure.....

Well, I'm posting this on Tuesday because the sting maybe a little less sore. My son all last week was say'n "Your going down Old man!!". Every chance he got he would take. Of course, I would just say "Lets wait and see.". We had about 10 people over Sat. to watch the Carolina vs Clemson game. Three of us were Clemson fans and the rest Carolina fans. (I do not hate S. Carolina, I pull for them all the time just not against Clemson.)

14 to 31 was the score for those of you who were under a rock all weekend. I know my best friend and my son may need a hug. Not the short greeting hug you give a cousin or in-law. They need the long squeeze hug you give someone after losing a long time pet or after they just got out of a Mexican prison for an import/export transaction going bad. This post was not meant to gloat. It was posted to let the healing begin. My hugs are free and nobody has taken me up on them yet. (don't really know what that means yet.) Before I give that special hug to my son, the "Old man" owns you and has state and federal papers to prove it..... NOW LET THE HEALING BEGIN.....

The NASCAR season is over. STR8 ARROW Racing could have done better, but we were pleased with the overall performance of our team. All of our drivers made it into the chase, sponsorships are solid, and employment seekers are looking to join the best team in NASCAR. You guys might not have known the the management of STR8 ARROW made a wager. It was during our 1st annual 5th trip this little bet was made. CWF pulls for the 88 and I pull for 20/14. The wager was that the driver with the most points in '08 will have that flag, on top of the pole, for the 2nd annual 5th trip.

Let's look ahead. Let's just imagine GET3 with a "drink" in his hand and CWF with "ice water" in his. Sitting in our folding chairs looking up the hand crafted bamboo pole.(CWF did a great job on that pole.) The Stewart flag over the Jr. flag seems to wave just a little bit more in the breeze. Ahhh!! There it is!! That perfect gust of wind that will happen most of the day. Look at that eye candy. (This will be the longest I can look at anything that beautiful without get'n slapped.) Not only does the #14 flag look better, it even has a louder "POP". Did you hear that? Sshhhh!! POP POP POP POP POP POP POP (pause) POP POP POP POP POP . The #14 flag constantly does this. Seven "POPs", a pause then five more "POPs". What does this mean? It's to long for Morse code, so I turn to CWF and ask him. (He is the brains.) CWF screams "B*LLSH*T wheel bearing!" Yea, I don't think CWF got that right either.

My imagination even puzzles me sometimes. When I get done with this post, I'm going to Google seven "POPs" (pause) five more "POPs". It must mean something!! 7 pause 5? 75? (GET3 tapping chin.) 75.....75.....75 NO IDEA! Will just have to go see Mr. Google.....

Look for the 3rd, 4th, and 5th Annual 5th trip I won't even get to waste the space w/ the #14 flag. This will be my only chance for a looong time!

I'm fortunate to have a good boss. I pretty much run everything at my location and he recognizes this. I get everything done that is required of a 24/7 lights out operation. I consider myself lucky to have a job and a good boss. I know that some of you out there do not have that luxury.

I've read and heard some of the stories that you all have told. Now, I also do some part time work. (I know you might not have known.) I provide a service that in some states might break some laws. I "handle" certain people "BOSSES" that do employees wrong. It is a small business with just one employee, me. (makes it hard for Grand Juries to prosicute) Of course, I cannot go into great details of my services that I provide. I do have a color brochure I can mail out if anyone needs it.

I'm posting this for a certain someone to maybe lighten their day. We all work hard and to have an ungrateful boss just ain't right. The person I'm posting this for would never in a million years use my service. I'm just letting them know that if they need anything, if anyone needs anything, I'm just a phone call away.

I can post a few "hypothetical" services I can provide:

As you all know, I've been trying to come up with band names for my GHWT band. I know that everyone is on pins and needles on what my decision is. In my last post, you saw my lame attempt at band names. I really tried to be creative and humorous in some of the names that I came up with. I will admit that only one of those names stuck out to me, GET Filthy. Then along comes Mr. Fickling. (Not PAPPA FICK, his son CWF.) I have said, 'til I was blue in the face, that FICK is the "BRAINS" of 5TH SAS. He has shown again why he has this title. Fick, the creator of the great band FBAC, has yet again come up with the next big metal band to hit the stage:

FIYHR (pronounced fear)

Fihyrs are the collected fears of humanity made corporeal. These creatures were once thought to be related to beholders, but in fact there is no connection between the two kinds of monsters aside from a superficial resemblance. As the remnants of hundreds of people’s nightmares swirl through the ether, they somehow combine with leftover magical power and coalesce into these physical monsters. A few random dream images aren’t enough; it takes the strong emotional energy of a mass of people under duress to spawn a fihyr. The right combination of conditions is most often found in cities that are under siege, or being terrorized by monsters, or suffering from famine, civil war, or some other mass trauma. Great fihyrs are larger, more intelligent, and much more dangerous than the smaller variety. A great fihyr forms when a number of small fihyrs combine.

There it is! This is the name of my band. Now, before you look for the swag, I'm working on the logo. T-shirts may be out by Christmas. You can get one for that certain special someone. CWF punk slapped me and said "FBAC was off limits to a no talent hack like you, GET3!" Well, after a couple of days in my tub, with the cold water running, dry'n my cry'n eyes, I've come up with a bunch of names. (Did you know Sharpies won't write when wet?) I got a new Sharpie and here is my "Brainstorming" ideas for band names for GHWT.

You see that I was all over the map. Fick will spot a lot of influences in my titles, the rest of you will think "he's nuts!" I could use a little feedback from all. Now I do not know yet how many letters can be in our band name yet. It could be a determining factor as well.

In these uncertain financial times, one thing remains certain — the ever-expanding national debt. It's growing at such an accelerated rate, the clock that has kept track of the deficit since 1989 has had to add a digit. The National Debt Clock switched its digital dollar sign to a 1 on Monday to accommodate the nation's ballooning deficit, now past the $10 trillion mark, thanks to Congress' $700 billion bank stimulus package.

Thank you politicians for not only screwing us, but our children, grandchildren, and their children so on and so forth. The law should be the same for the government as it is for individuals. Don't have it in the bank, don't spend it. No borrowing, no "future projected revenue", none of that political sh!t mouth speak for we want to spend more so we are going to tax and borrow more regardless of how much a person makes.

Let us just cut to the chase here. No matter who wins in this election they can't do sh!t. They can't "fix" health care, infrastructure, social security, or any thing else. Why you ask? There is no more money for a long time. <---Nope that is not true we will just print more money "Yea, that's the ticket!" I want everyone (politicians, partisans, left and right wackos, and any else spouting any party line) to just be honest. "Sorry voter you cannot have 250,000 for the Chapman Cultural Center." <---Yep we did. Will I ever go to this place? Where the he(( is this place? They say it is in Spartanburg. This is my point! NO MORE SPENDING FOR GOD SAKE.

Obama says there will be no more taxes for 95% of the people. Fine, but what he fails to tell us is that the "Bush" tax cuts are not going to be renewed. Pardon me Obama, but I loose almost $4000 dollars in credits if you let that expire. McCain you ain't no better! Tax'n my employer for a health plan. Both of you will really screw me, my employer does make over 250,000. If both of you tax him I will not get raises or any quarterly bonus. You guys are tax'n to spend. STOP STOP STOP! Quit buying votes, you both know you can't do a dang thing admit it! Both of you quit pandering and just tell the truth. For the rest of you jacknuts in office "Your fired!" If the Boy Scouts need wooden arrows, then they can earn a patch in a wood shop. If I don't pay my cable bill, no cable. The same for my lights, water, med insurance, gas, and all other necessities. That should be the same for Democrats and Republicans.

I do not want a political street fight on this particular post. I'm voicing my complete disdain for this two party system that has brought us to this point. I know that "Paul" will blame the Republicans cause that is what he does. If Paul was honest he would have to admit that what works for him and myself should work for our Federal gov. If you ain't got the money you can't get the "thing". Look, social programs are good. They help less fortunate people. If there is no money from the Feds then these programs will still exist will private donations. The Air force "Supertanker" is like 250 million, no money no tanker. The Military has made do with what they have had for years. The US is the biggest, baddest, bastard on the block all we need is bat and a row boat.

I have electronic voting booths at my pole. I don't know yet if I can write in a candidate yet. I'm going to really look into a third party. It is clear that one of the two Jacknuts will win, but not with my one vote.

OK ladies and gents I'm beyond pumped. I have put my request in early enough to make sure that I get the perfect gift this Christmas. I have been keeping tabs on this all year. I've even subscribed to Activision to get updates just for this gift. The last e-mail sent the prices last week so I could adjust my budget. I will be really, really, really good until I get this, then all h3ll will break loose. Yes, I'm a 37 yr old guy that is so excited I had to drink a bottle of NyQuil just to write this post. What is the object of my desire?

"Activision wants everyone to be straight on the prices of its upcoming Guitar Hero: World Tour bundles. Activision says the following will be the final prices for the retail launch:
$190 for the full band kit on PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii.
$180 for the full band kit on PS2.

Now, I will admit that I'm torn on which bundle to get. (Let me go back a sec.) FBAC is the name of CWF's band. CWF kicks some serious tail in GH1, GH2, and GH3. I on the other hand am a Jerry's kid wanna be with the guitar. I don't have any of the GH games. I only get to play at CWF's place. I know if I had the game I would get better on the guitar. FBAC already has a lead guitarist, CWF. I do want the drum set, but really have no interest at this time. I want to be like my Hero CWF. (FBAC: Free Beer And Chicken)

Thank you all, I'm no longer torn. I just want the XBOX 360 guitar/game bundle. I want to learn the best instrument on the game first. If I practice really really hard, drink my AMP, and start writing with my left hand I might be able to get a gig with FBAC. I know it may just be a pipe dream, but that's all I got.

I would like to first of all say "Thank Goodness he/we won one this year.". I just could not bear the thought of CWF pointing out that his driver won and mine did not. CWF would do it in a heartbeat because I've done it so many times too. We do jab back and forth and it's fun for all.

That pesky cynic in me could say that maybe NASCAR didn’t want to deal with the wrath of Tony Stewart and decided Smith’s move was illegal. But really, the yellow line is the yellow line and you can’t go below the yellow line. End of story. As I watched the race Sunday, I even said out loud as it happened, “You can’t do that.” (I talk to the TV a lot.)

Stewart has been a victim of the yellow line rule at Daytona and Monday expressed sympathy for Smith.
“I feel bad for him because it was the race of his life yesterday,” Stewart said. “And like I say, I sympathize from his standpoint, and it’s frustrating when you know that at the very least you should have finished second. But to get the one-lap penalty like that and be at the tail end of the lead lap, it’s hard to swallow when you leave.”

I’m going to go there, if it was Earnhardt Jr. doing the same move Smith did, I would predict a different call by NASCAR. Regan does not have the "Star power" yet to get any of NASCAR's calls. I'm glad NASCAR stuck with the rule that burned Tony last year at Daytona. It also appears that they have cleared up any grey about this yellow line business.

OK, one thing that I just have to point out: Bright yellow makes me nauseous! I'm glad that was the last race for Subway. If by chance Subway goes to SHR next year RUN ALL GREEN W/ YELLOW ACCENT. I'm still a little miffed that I did not get a call from JGR on the Subway color schemes.

My sister sent me this pic earlier in the week. She has a great since of humor that sometimes has a sting. In the case of this picture no sting was intended, but maybe implied. Oh Gena, those days are long behind us. CWF never liked Moosehead, JCE could never afford Heineken, and Tecate was not even an option back then.

Now I know my sister was quite pleased with herself on this one! The title of this e-mail was "I got you first". When I opened this e-mail I busted out laughing. Yep! She did get me first.

I posted these pictures for not only the entertainment factor, but for the originality. In this PC world of HOA's and "Oh, that's to offencive I'm calling my lawyer." it's great to see this type of creativity. I tried really hard to find the two artists that made these spectacular pieces of art. I wanted to find out if everyone enjoyed their work like I did? I wanted to know if they had court orders to take the art down? If they had any pending divorces over the art? If the "mooning" artist had a blue print? I'm still looking for answers.

GET3's POP & Pink Floyd

GET3's pop was GET2. (<--If that needs explaining, log off now and go back to your finger painting!) I used "was" because he (GET2) passed awhile back. As a teenager and adult I did not have much to do with GET2. Many reasons why, some his and some mine. Of course GET2 gave me token gifts through out his life. There's four things GET2 gave me that I will have for the rest of mine. My name, Greek god-like great looks, no history of balding, and my love of Pink Floyd. GET2 had many highs and lows in his life. He went from a custom built house to a 20x10, cold, one car garage. Pink Floyd sounded great in both locations to him. I think there is a rule, or maybe a law in some states, that you are not allowed to like your parents music. I'm guilty. I'm guilty of knowing every lyric of "Wish you were here" and "The Wall" albums at age 13. I was also guilty of being a terrible influence on JCE and CWF. "You will not go over to GET3's house! He listens to Pink Floyd. That's the music of the devil!" (<--I can't remember if that was Mamma Fick or Mrs. Uptight to good for everyone Eledge.) Tuesday I did my all day Richard Wright tribute. Richard was the keyboardist of Pink Floyd and he just died, of cancer, at his home at age 65. I took my box set of Cd's, almost all of Pink Floyd's work, and played them all day. I specifically listened for the keyboard, to honor Richard. He was one of the founding members of GET2 and myself favorite band. Now I know that GET2 won't be at the front of the line to welcome Richard. GET2 will let Richard see his family, friends, and his favorite band members. A week from now Richard, I bet GET2 will come a knocking. Now GET2 had his reasons and I had mine, but we can agree we have great taste in music. Oh yea, I almost forgot. Tell Richard "Shine on you crazy diamond" and "Thanks" for me GET2....... (I copied this post and sent it to DAVIDGILMOUR.COM and PINKFLOYD.COM.UK . I think I blew a speaker in the Ol' Pontiac going to work this morning. You just can't beat head bang'n going down I-85 with no traffic at five in the morning. The reason my hearing will be out for awhile is:

I know I'm late on my posts! I was off at CWF's house for the release of the new Metallica CD. The long wait was worth it. The new cd not the new post. For those who got the "Death Magnetic" cd you already know. If you did not get the cd then this post is waste'n your time.

Overall, I give the cd 4.8 out of 5 stars. It rocks hard from the start to the finish. I did not hate St. Anger (last Metallica cd) it just did not head bang enough to have the Metallica name on it. Death Magnetic makes up for it and then some. I did take off .2 for two reasons.

Reason one: the first 96 seconds of "The Unforgiven III"!!! Guys really?? A piano?? It takes every bit of adrenaline from the first five tracks to make it thru the 96 seconds of you wanting to be "ARTISTIC". I have no idea if that came from Rick Rubin or some sort of "St. Anger" flashback you guys were having.

Reason two: the fade out at the end of "Suicide & Redemption". Hetfield, Ulrich, Hammet, and Trujillo that was just plain LAZY!!! It's an instrumental song fellows. You rock the whole song and at the end you fade it out. WTF??? You guys were flawless at the end of the other nine tracks. I know, I know, you were just trying to be "ARTISTIC" again. Did you not learn from "St. Anger"?

Everyone is a critic and I am the best critic on this blog. I know that ain't saying much. Let me know what you thought of the cd. I will be reading a good bit til' my hearing comes back.....

STR8 ARROW Teams in the Chase

Well, it appears that JGR is the only team that can compete with STR8 ARROW! All four of our drivers made it into the chase. (JGR only has three, guess they can't compete) The 99, 88, 20, and the 29 have shown great teamwork for us all year. It is with great pleasure CWF and I send out this press release:

The ownership of STR8 ARROW send out our congratulations to all of our teams. We have worked hard on and off the track to dominate NASCAR, to this point! The guys back in the shop, to the over the wall guys have shown just how great STR8 ARROW has become. We (CWF & GET3) are not satisfied by just getting into the Chase. I challenge all of our teams to make it a sweep! It matters not who wins if we all are in the top four. (YES, IT DOES NOT MATTER CWF!!!) I've just gotten off the phone with the President of Nascar. He sends his best to our teams and knows that we will be the "Team of the future."

Mr. Lucas better be glad that the Charger's secondary could not hold out the Panther's last drive. I was beg'n Fox sports to show Mr. Lucas on the sideline. I know he was down on both knees pray'n to the QB gods to give Jake one good throw. The gods answered with no time on the clock. Keep pray'n Mr. Lucas we got one more game without Steve Smith. Yes, you are the reason that Carolina won today. The amount of pray'n you did would put a Baptist preacher to shame. I still think that Steve gave you what you wanted with that broken nose. Pat Fox showed that even with Lucas pray'n Fox can still coach! BRING ON THE BEARS.........

Kids do the darnest things!

Josh and Amanda Brock are Kayleigh's parents. They are part of Phyllis's family. 2ND or 3RD cousins or something like that.

Two weekends ago we kept Kayleigh. Kayleigh is 15 months and like all that age a hand full. I know that everyone has great looking babies. Every baby can calculate moon shots! Drive mommy or daddy to the ABC store. File your 2008 income taxes and do the yard work. I know, I know, I know! Can your child make a sound like Linda Blair in the "Exorcist"? Yep, you read it right!

Kayleigh makes a deep (really deep), throaty, hair standing sound. When she did this for the first time it startled me. I'm a 6'4" guy that had to check his shorts after I heard this! This 15 month old kid sounds just like something under a bridge that is fix'n to eat me!! Drill Instructors at Parris Island wish they had Kayleigh's voice. She makes sounds in this voice and smiles afterwards. Creepy is the best word I could use. I asked her parents, if at night when the baby monitor goes off, if she uses this voice. Momma!<--(in the deepest, scratchiest, demon like voice you could imagine.) Her parents said that this did not happen. (I think they are fib'n!) If I heard this at 2:00 in the morning, I would pull the covers over my head and call MY momma!

She was a pure delight to watch and I kept a close eye on everything with a blade.

Dad, how far can I go?

Many of you have children. Many have children that never ask the question above. They just push and push until you tell them they have gone to far. As children they learn at an early age on our limits, we can all agree on this. I'm a proud parent of two teenagers. To my great surprise, my all knowing son asked me this very question a couple of days ago. Dad, how far can I go?

I have only run out of gas twice in my life. Once I was in a '79 red Ford Mustang Gia, it did not have a low level light and I was young. I knew that I would never run out gas! That only happened to "old" people. Well, as I was walking in front of Mayfair Mills to get back to my apartment I learned that it doesn't just happen to "old" people. My roommate (Josh) at the time did not have a gas can or a car. In that eight mile round trip, with a full five gallon gas can for four miles, I learned "how far I could go?". I also learned that gas attendants love selling five gallon gas cans. "We love to see dumb young'ens like yourself drag'n five gallons of gas down the road." "Oh, no sir! You just could not learn your lesson if we sold one gallon gas cans!" Two miles into my walk back to that Mustang I told my dumb self "I just should have put in two gallons!" Lesson learned.... The second time I ran out of gas was in a '91 root beer Honda Prelude. It was a five speed and I held the clutch in and coasted into a gas station on HWY 29. That car did have a low level light. I'm sure I drove all over Spartanburg for a week with that light on. I had the five gallon gas tank in the trunk just in case.

When Brandon called and asked me how far he could go with his low level light on, in his '99 white Ford Explorer, I chuckled. I did not tell him about the above story. I did not tell him about the four mile walk. Brandon drives an automatic, so I did not tell him about the "clutch coast". I completely reassured him that he had plenty of gas to make it to a gas station. Brandon did make it without incident, but I'm not sure how close he was! My wife Phyllis would have gotton upset if he ran out of gas. When I said jokingly that the only way he will learn how far he can go is to run out of gas. HOLD ON! I wasn't wishing that my son ran out of gas! I just thought it maybe a great learning tool for my all knowing son. He did not know how far he could go, and he still doesn't.

I no longer have that five gallon gas can. I have no idea where it ended up. I do have three one gallon gas cans. Just in case my all knowing son wants to find out the answer..."Dad, how far can I go?"

Toyota 8 wins huh?

I guess all of those Jr. fans were right! "Dem Toyoters are cheat'n! Jr. ain't dat bad!" OK, it wasn't just Jr. fans, it was everyone not in a Toyota. I currently pull for a driver that drives a Toyota, Stewart. In my heart of hearts I believe this is the top reason why Tony is leaving JGR. He is taking the highest of high roads. <--(sarcasm) I'm with the Chevy, Ford, and Dodge owners on this one. Toyota played the dyno game and got caught in the Nationwide series. I do think that they have been play'n it in the cup series as well. I just could not wrap my mind around how two of these:

could improve a race car. The photos are of two 1/4 inch magnets that cost 4 dollars each. When I heard that they were under the gas pedal I was really puzzled. Did the magnets hold the pedal down to help corner times? Did it help on restarts with "hot shifts"? I just could not grasp why you would want the gas pedal stuck to the floor. Foolish GET3! It never had to do with turning one lap in the car. It was for the dyno testing. The two (4 dollar magnets) were placed under the gas pedal to prevent the 100% stroke of the pedal. This shows up on the dyno as lower horse power. NASCAR makes all of their decisions on the dyno or wind tunnel. X car maker has to much horse power on the dyno results in engine modification to "equal" other manufactures. X car maker has to much down force in the wind tunnel results in body modification to "equal" other manufactures. Toyota shows they have "equal" horse power to all the rest on the dyno. On race day, when there is no magnets under the pedal, they had 10 to 15% more than the rest.

Now, Toyota says "We were not "aware" that JGR was doing this." Wink wink nod nod! Well Jr. fans ya'll were right "Dem Toyoters wer cheat'n!" I do honestly think that Toyota played the dyno game and won eight cup races. Looks like little Kyle B. might have an asterisk by his eight wins! I sure am glad Tony is getting out of that unsportsmanlike race team!

Quit driving like a nun on I-85!

There is a little patch of road between Spartanburg and Greenville. This little road is called Interstate 85. It is a nice, asphalt, three lane road! There is a 2 to 3 degree bank in some areas. It is one great piece of taxpayers work. The trees and billboards give off a nice decorative look on the journey. Today,on mile marker 62, two squirrels were throwing dice and the darker one was winning big. How could I have possibly seen these squirrels you ask? Thanks to a golden, Ford Windstar SC licence plate 157 ETB I could not miss them. This woman crossed from the far right hand lane into the far left hand lane right in front of me. At this point I have no complaints whatsoever. I have done this many times myself. It was when she slowed to a 55mph crawl is when I got miffed. I was going much faster than that, so I had to slow way down! You have read the description of the vehicle. It was not silver, and it did not have a blue light bar on top of it either. HEY LADY, YOU ARE NOT A STATE TROOPER, move the h3ll over. You were not put on this earth to hold up ten other people and myself. You were in your own little world oblivious to the fact that you are an inconsiderate ****tard!
In my great state of SC we have many roads. All of said roads have speed limits. Also in my great state we have law enforcement that patrol the roads to enforce the speed limits. Interstate 85 has a speed limit too. The speed limit on I-85 is 60MPH. It is my job not to get caught speeding. It is the troopers job, among many others, to catch me. The other two lanes on I-85 are for you lady! Look people, I just don't fly off the handle at the drop of a hat. I give everyone plenty of time to work their way into the middle lane. Everyone should know how to use a mirror, and when to be considerate. GET3 drives a gold Pontiac Grand Prix GT, SC plate *** *** <--(I ain't stupid my brother-in-law is a tropper) get out of my way. Let the great troopers of this state do their job. I was just short of bump drafting you this afternoon! I was two seconds away from paying my insurance deductible. Lady, you almost became one of those traffic reports we hear on the radio! (who said blogging won't cure stress? Thx to all for let'n me vent!)

I know a music expert. When the first note of the song starts, he can name the band, the lead guitarist, and the guitar he/she is playing. He knows the drummer's name, and if he/she had an addiction problem at the time of recording. He can also tell you how many paternity suits the lead singer has. A freak of nature this guy is.

Once, he threw a picture frame, made out of 100% elephant dung, at me. I'm rolling around his living room floor, with a 2 inch gash over my right eye, like a punch drunk prize fighter. As I'm bleeding, all over my NASCAR SUPERSTORE customized Kyle Petty t-shirt, he stands over me just like a referee would. Does he look to the kitchen area to see if anybody is going to throw in the towel? Does he wait for me to stand up to give me the standing eight count? AAWWW H3LL No! In the best impersonation of "Stone Cold" Steve Austin he says "Josh Homme!! How many times do I have to tell you? Josh Homme is the lead guitarist of KYUSS. Now quit bleeding on my carpet!"
It took twelve washes to get the blood out of that t-shirt. I now get cold chills around elephants. Last but not least, I will never get Homme and Garcia (lead singer of KYUSS) mixed up again.

I'm telling you this story for a reason. I'm in training! The date is set, Friday Sept. 12Th! I have my daughter Morgan throwing picture frames with her left hand. My son Brandon is training at the local hospital to be the best cut man in the south. I'm not looking to dethrone the champ. I'm just preparing in case I get the answer wrong again. Well, I know it's training time! Morgan just came out of her room with a huge smile and a picture frame in her left hand....

In my post "NASCAR SUPERSTORE sux @$$" I went on a two paragraph rant. The rant was about how they did not have Stewart gear to customize. If you don't know, CWF aka: Fick, is my brother from a different mother. We agree on a lot of things. I would of thought this was one of them. You know, if I would have gone to the NASCAR SUPERSTORE web site, the one that my best friend and brother from a different mother had a problem with, I would not spend my hard earn money on that site until the problem was remedied. Well, Fick clearly did not think that! His betrayal has cut me deep. My group therapist said this might help.

There is a multitude of ways Fick will defend himself. I have randomly picked two quick ones. Ignorance, Fick did this act before my post. Nope that won't work! I told him my issue way before his betrayal. Insanity, Fick is a JR. fan. I have an idea, let's explore the last one. Here is how I see it going down, "Perry Mason" style....

We have to battle through the press to get into the full court house. The gallery is full, the twelve jurors are seated, and the judge bangs his gavel to begin.

GET3: Good morning, Worm your honor. I will plainly show the prisoner (Fick), who now stands before you, was caught red-handed buying this crap: "OCHO DOBLE"! Ohhh Fick, what were you thinking? This will not do. Call up Poppa Fick!
A tall, to tan, great looking, beast of a man stands up and approaches the bench.
Poppa Fick: I always said he'd come to no good in the end your honor. If they'd let me have my way I could have flayed him into shape. But my hands were tied, the bleeding hearts and artist let Fick get away with this betrayal. Please your honor, let me hammer him right now!

Fick jumps up! His defence lawyer is trying to pull him back down into his seat. Eyes wide open, teeth a showing, scratching at his chest he starts yelling.

Fick: Crazy, toys in the attic I am crazy, truly gone fishing. They must have taken my marbles away.

Then the twelve jurors, to the right, look at each other and stand. All of them start pointing and shouting.

GET3: You little sh!t you're in it now, I hope they throw away the key. You should have talked to me more often than you did, but no! You had to go your own way, have you broken any friendships lately? Just five minutes, Worm your honor, Him and ME, alone.

A woman two rows back in the gallery stands up. Oh look, it's Mamma Fick! Fighting back tears and with her arms out ....

Momma Fick: Baaaaaaaaaabe! Come to mother baby, let me hold you in my arms! Judge, I never wanted him to get in any trouble. Why'd he ever have to leave me? Worm, your honor, let me take him home.

Fick's head drops into his hands! His defence lawyer put his arms around him in his seat. The court room falls silent, and you can hear Fick crystal clear.

Fick: Crazy! I'm a JR. fan, I am crazy. Bars in the window. There must have been some lead paint on my walls, when I ate it!

twelve jurors: Crazy, he's a JR. fan! He is crazy!

The judge is up on the bench. His facial expression shows complete disgust.

Judge: The evidence before the court is incontrovertible, there is no need for the jury to retire! In all my years of judging, I have never heard before of someone more deserving of the full penalty of the law. The way you made GET suffer, your dad and mother, fills me with the urge to defecate!

Fick: No Judge! Noooo!

Judge: Since, my friend, you have revealed your deepest fear! I sentence you to be exposed before your peers. (Gavel bangs twice)

Six bailiffs drag Fick away kicking and screaming "The paint, why did I eat that paint!" Yep, that is how I see it going!

So, take a little extra time. My friends, you heard the judge! The jury of public opinion is out.

I thought I was "Tough" (READER WARNING)

**READER WARNING** This will be the hardest and most emotional post I have done to this date. I do understand if it is a hard read for you. My wife Phyllis has been struggling with Lupus for the past nine years. This post is about another medical battle in the never ending war. I thank you for you time and I wish every ones family best of health. **READER WARNING COMPLETE**

Phyllis doesn't know that I have had this post in the draft file since Aug. 1st. I did not tell her that I was working on it. I did (6) six different drafts. None of the drafts came close when I was done. I was pissed that I could not express how I felt. Monday Aug. 11th, on my way back from my sister's house, I heard my way to express.

I'm not a music expert. I like all kinds of music. I may like a song for the beat, the solos, or lyrics. Craig Morgan is a country music singer. He has a song called "Tough". On Thur. July 31st I found out "I thought I was Tough".

At 3:45 pm, on the above date, nurses moved Phyllis back into the operating room to remove her right pinkie finger. We found out the finger had to be removed just (2) two days before. In the song "Tough" Craig sings "I've seen her cry, I've seen her break. In my eyes, she'll always be strong.". Phyllis did not want to loose a piece of her body. It did not matter how or when, but Gangrene had set in. The doctor told her it had to be removed or she could loose her hand. She broke. I held her tight, tried to comfort her, and just kept telling her I love you. In the pre-op room I was using my cell phone as an excuse to wipe away a few tears. Phyllis did not know this. If she did, she did not say anything.

Two days later she was at Spartanburg Memorial Hospital for a family member. The rest of the week she was at the Hospice Center with the same member.

Phyllis gets mad at me when she is crying because of a sad movie scene, and she looks over and I'm not. I'm not the guy that cries at the end of movies. I did not get emotional when my father past. I even cheered when E.T. was all white, and dead in the ditch. On Thursday, July 31st at 3:45 pm I just thought I was tough.

The Channel Coach Purse

My daughter Morgan had been beg'n all last week for us to get this Coach purse. It is all the rave this year. The youngsters are out in droves just to get this purse. It is "THE" fashion item of the school year. We told Morgan that she would have to save up and buy it herself. Morgan cleaned her brothers room (Brandon doesn't have time/or just to lazy, so he pays Morgan.), did extra chores for her Grandparents, and after an alleged crime spree she had the money. She had done her part, we just could not do ours.
Last week couldn't have been the worse time for us. We had a relative in Hospice and spent a lot of our time there. Every morning Morgan would ask if we were going to get this purse. Every night we would tell her tomorrow.<---After reading up to this point I'm sounding like a woman. Switch'n to "Manly Mode"....

0911- Father Daughter time: Morgan can be a very colorful person. She always comes up with stuff that will cause me to laugh. She was in rare form with the mall walkers. She had many, but this is the one that I remember most: A large woman passed us on the outside. The woman had something on her beeping a loud rhythmic tone. Morgan with her eyes wide open, hands up in front of her body, and in an excited voice says "BREAK LEFT! The ship has a (radar) lock on us!" That is my girl!!

0958- In front of location. Angelic music plays in the background as the large gate starts to rise. I gently held Morgan's arm. I can see in her eyes she is thinking "I can either stage or an Indiana Jones slide under this slow @ss gate!" I let go only when the gate was completely up.

1000- Proud Daddy moment. It was crystal clear that my daughter performed her own "recon" on this store. She never broke stride, never looked away from the target, and she achieved our operational objective.

This morning 15 mins into my 30 mins commute, the radio blurts out the forecast with an addition; "Orange level ozone alert today.". Did I mention that I was in my car, driving, windows down, and the AC on high? Yep, I'm the reason that old people and children with no lungs can't go outside today. Yes, I did get some pleasure out of knowing that I have done my part to help prevent skin cancer. I do not need any parades. Buildings, schools, or airports don't need to be named in my honor. It is my mission/purpose to help anyway that I can. While I write this entry, my windows are up in my house. My AC is on and set to 65 degrees. The sun is shining through every window, but I still have every light on.

I give due notice: The GET3 Foundation has been formed, in partnership with your local power plants, to help prevent this epidemic of skin cancer. The mission statement is in the works. When I started this Blog it was just for my simple pleasure. I write about things that interest me and annoy me as well. When I wrote "Happy 20th Anniversary" I would have never thought I would have gotten so many views. It is by far the most I have received on one post! Not to fear though, I will not let this go to my head. I will not go all crazy and give my body guard Victor a big raise, upgrade my pop-up for a tour bus, or make you guys address me as- Presidente GET3! I'm new to all this and really do not know the protocols for feedback. When I read posts on the 'net I post a comment. Is that wrong? Victor says "Presidente GET3, you should just click to the next blog, sir." Is Victor right? GET3 GLOBAL had over 90 different views in 24 hours. I know this is not a "Ripley's Moment", but in my head...... ROCK STAR status was reached. Thank you all for the word of mouth, and keep coming back. Victor needs the job.

Happy 20th Anniversary Mom!! On Aug 1st my mother will celebrate her 20th Anniversary of her 40th Birthday...... Yep, she had my sister and I at a real early age. It was a real "Ripley's Moment" ! My mother will never see this 'cause she thinks the Internet is a type of stocking. I cannot really blame her either, the nursing home charges ten extra dollars a month for it! Come on people, we pay for a window, mini fridge, 1 case of beer, sheets changed once a month, one shower a day, she don't need the "full" meal plan (2 fruit and a veg. is enough), and my sister and I alternate visiting times. We alternate because only two people can fit into her room at a time. "The ten extra dollars would just be spoiling her!" my sister says. Besides, it was my sister's idea to get the room with the window! I guess that is why she is the "favorite" one. That little 12 inch wide x 36 inch long window was the budget breaker. That window is why my mother cannot read my blog.....thanks sis. Sorry about that, was having a Dr. Phil moment.

I'm telling everyone about my mother's anniversary because it is a big deal to us. We love her very much and tell her this every chance we get. To this day she does everything she can (for us) from that tiny little room. She still does for us and asks for nothing in return! We love you and wish you many more Anniversaries!! I will have to leave it at that for now. The nursing home beats her if we are late. (protection cost five a month- DAMN that window)

Remember when gas was .78 a gallon? When there was no bottled water you had to get water from the faucet or the hose? Remember when "NEW" Coke tasted like vomit, so they went back to "Classic"? Remember the ROCK ballads that got you misty eyed? What about the big bonn fires that went on for hours? No Flip'n Gore telling you about your carbon footprint. Long tube socks with the three stripes on top? Old school NBA shorts? Remember when Madonna was "HOT"?

This pic does not look like the pic of someone who is just tired or not wearing makeup. Her face is noticeably different and NOT in a good way. She looks like she had a face lift and not a good one. Litigation papers are on my desk at this very moment. In this time of sue happy lawyers and desperate plaintiffs I feel I need to file my own papers. The lady that sued McDonalds 'cause the coffee was too hot. The guy that got the big pay day from Dr. Pepper. Drug companies, Big Tobacco, and Video Game makers have all seen the inside of a court room. All of these examples are of companies that lost due to no warning labels. I was part of the crowd that said all of these payouts were just crazy. Of course coffee is hot, never open soda around the eye area, all drugs have side effects, and constant violence on video games causes erectile disfunction. Everyone knew this way before it ever went into a court room. My friends my song has changed.......

On July 27th, 12:12 AM est. time, clear skies, with 82% humidity I was doing an activity that has change my outlook on the litigation process. I was kicking ass on a video game I'm sure you all know- Guitar Hero III. I was kicking CWF's @ss, still sore from the AMP f'ing, and just enjoying the game in general. I was in the middle of a great windmill during Jukebox Hero. In my head the crowd was going nuts, stage diving, head bang'n, pantie throwing, the chick center stage third row that kept flashing her breasts (thank you), screaming, and yelling for yours truly! Then like a shot my brain said "Yo kid, we got a major pain problem some where!" Did someone throw metal lined panties. Did I get kicked by a stage diver? Did a jealous husband shoot me over a lil' misunderstanding? Nope! Harbor Breeze/Hampton Bay decided to reach out and say "Hello, Mr. Guitar Hero!"

Mountain Dew has been my drink for as long as I can remember! I love the taste and just about all of the commercials that they run. (I know that Pepsi Co. owns MD., but for now I'm treating them (MD) as an individual company.) It may also be a shock that I have a best friend. Going on almost 22 yrs we have come up with crazy, deranged, brilliant, intelligent ideas. You know the kind you get late at night when you have run out of stuff to drink. The kind of ideas that punch you in the face while driving or on the deck grill'n steaks! Well, CWF came up with one....

Yep, CWF should be getting a check from MD on a weekly basis. Five months back I was at CWF's house. He pours me a drink mixture. It was d@mn good. Now that the secrete is out I can tell you- Green AMP & OJ! The man was way ahead of the curve on this one. Was MD outside his house in an at&t van with high powered microphones listening to us inside. Did they come into his house while he was at work and put in cameras and 007 bugs! Whatever they did do get the mixture secrete they stole it!! It is just another example of BIG CORPORATION f'ing the little guy. I hope CWF got some sort of foreplay or dinner, cause he sure ain't seen a check yet.......

Every one knows I was a "Devil Dog". I was watching a baseball game last night and I get one hell of a treat. The Marine Silent Drill Team. I joke with all members of the military. We all give each other hell any chance we get. I will say this about the Silent Drill Team- The greatest show on earth! Now for you Thunderbird/Blue Angles fans, "Our show is in the sky not on earth!" Well, your show leaves one hell of a carbon footprint. Burns way to much of the earth's resources, and frankly if I can do it on PS3 Flight Sim it ain't a challenge. To top it all off, my neck starts to get sore 5 mins into the 6 min show!

The United States Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon is a 24-man rifle platoon that performs without any verbal commands. All you will ever hear is the slap of their hands on the rifles. The routine concludes with a unique rifle inspection sequence demonstrating elaborate rifle spins and tosses.

These Devil Dogs are individually selected from the Schools of Infantry located in Camp Pendleton, CA and Camp Lejune, NC from interviews conducted by Barracks personnel. Once selected, Marines are assigned for a 2 year ceremonial tour.

The Marine Corps is using these guys in commercials. I have put it in the video bar to the right. This commercial is so stirring that I still get chills everytime I watch it. It shows the famous Silent Drill Team performing portions of their sequential close-order rifle drills at various locations across the country in what comes out to represent a solidline across America from coast to coast. They start at sunrise by a New England lighthouse, go thru Times Square, down Main Street USA, at the St. Louis Arch, through a farm field, across a vast open prairie in front of the Rocky Mountains, across the rim of the Grand Canyon, over the top of the Hoover Dam, and ending up at the end of the day in the shadow of the Golden Gate Bridge. In the span of a few seconds, they represent our nation from sea to shining sea.

It is a stirring sight, these rock hard, ramrod, utencils of death, Devil Dogs in their dress blue jackets and white pants, sequentially spinning polished M-1 Garand rifles with fixed bayonets in perfect time. This is truly the finest ceremonial/demonstration team the United States military has to offer.

One time, I got behind this at&t van and he was taken pictures while driving. Click, click, click, clicking away, thumb at XBOX 360 speed! I was impressed. Then all HELL broke loose! He started to slow to 25mph in a 45mph! There must have been 50 cars backed up on Hwy 51 behind this at&t van. His head just drops down, chin touching chest. I truly get concerned. When we got to the stop light I go to make sure this guy isn't having some medical issues. I get up to the door. Start to bang on the glass, and then I see it! Yep! He was uploading to his BLOG!!!!!! That "tortoise" is my HERO.

As I know that all of you know, we did not learn the two things that I wanted to know. I do admit the very slim chance I had. Come on, a man can have a dream can't he!

We did not find out what number he is going to be next year. I spent about an hour going over all the stats of all the car numbers. Rumor mill says that it will be #14 'cause AJ Foyt is Tony's "hero".<--(said with nose pinched) OK, I have come to the conclusion that I will not be pissed/upset at that number. I'm still holding out for the chance that it will be #5 or #40. I know what your thinking about #5, Rick Hendrick will not let that number go. I'm hope'n Rick throws Stewart-Haas a bone. The number 5 has a long history with me and it would be KICK ASS if my driver got that number. The #40 just 'cause it's 2 x 20 = #40. That number is not that far a stretch. Ganassi shut that team down and might not renew #40 next year.

We did not find out the sponsor. This part does concern me! I did not post Thurs. night for a reason. I was collecting data. Data? Yes, I sat in the parking lot of Office Depot for 35 mins counting. I then went to Home Depot for the same time limit. What was I counting, you ask? I was counting how many men came out of these stores. (not gay stalker counting)
Home Depot= 21 men 12 women
Office Depot= 0 men 15 women.

0, ZERO, NADA, NONE!!! Not one guy came out of Office Depot in 35 mins. My conclusion: They are not the sponsor of MEN! Hey, I need a sponsor that I can go to without wearing a disguise. In my e-mail to Stewart I have addressed this. Old Spice is one hell of a sponsor! It is testosterone in a plastic case. Spray, rub on, wash off, splash on, and wah bam- you da man.

We will have to wait awhile to see what will happen. I just know that Tony will not do as good the first year. I will still be cheering knowing that our time will come again!!!

Driving into work this morning I heard the report. JGR released Tony from next years contract. The rumour mill is that it will be Stewart Haas for '09. I don't really care that this will happen. Tony will do great no matter where he goes. He is a 2 time champ and a top 5 in most active wins. A press conference will happen Thurs. to make it official. I e-mailed BIG TONY of my approval. (He said he was not going to make the move without my blessing.) Number 14 is being thrown around and Office Depot is another rumour. I will have a long rant when this is confirmed Thurs.....

Let's just come out and say it, no matter who wins the '08 election, they can't lose give'n this guy a job!! I watched every lap of that race. Many people know that I'm not JR's biggest fan. He is not the main guy that I pull for, but I don't hate him. I actually found myself pulling for him to win! <--WTF?? Yep, I said it out loud! Well, I was pulling for him not to run out of gas. I watched him turn the engine off and coast, then turn it back on for a sec, and coast again. Come on, anyone that can make a car that gets 8 miles to the gallon go almost double derserves a national shot! If he does not get the national nod, at least he got the win!

Congrats to JR, POPPA FICK, and CWF!! Ya'll waited a long time, and it was a great way to get it!!

Happy "D" DAY!!!!

History defines D-Day as a large, multi-nation military action against the Germans during WWII. It is written that it took the leaders well over 15 months to plan and implement the various aspects of the mission. We all can agree there was some miss steps but overall it was a success!!

"D" Day for me means something totally different.. The day you become a DAD ! Most of us still can remember that day, or days. I'm not talking about the day you found out she was. The actual day of the birth. "D" Day!! The day that the world stopped, your kid/kids got on, and you got your very own title of DAD! I will admit that this is not the way I got my title. Adoption, 021494 is the day the world stopped and I got my title, but it still is the same to me.

The advertising sharks guilt you into thinking that this day is to honor dads. The biggest, newest, shiniest, spare no expense gifts will only do for us dads. I know that all we need is that smile or look or hug that makes our day. That smile is why we get up and work as hard as we do. Why we bang our heads against the wall explaining ways of life. Why we stay up at night to make sure they are home. All the lessons, games, concerts, and everything else we do is for our kids. I have two teenagers and I do see the smile or look every now and then. So when you open that biggest, newest, shiniest, spare no expense gift- SMILE! Smile, big and proud, because you remember "D" Day! You will forget about the gift in a few months....

Now I will say proudly for all of us great dads to all of the other great dads "Happy "D" Day!! We all can agree there was some miss steps but overall it has been a success!!

(Not everyone is cut out for the title of DAD. We read about it way to much. I do think this world needs better dads! I can't stand to hear baby's daddy problems. That is for another post....)

I swear, If I see one more bumper sticker reading “1-20-09” or see another rolling to-the-second countdown clock on MySpace to 1-20-09, I’m gonna climb a bell tower with a rifle and a bag of Doritos and have me a grand old time, snacking & sniping. I guess the chips are optional.

For over a year now I’ve been seeing these countdowns, done by eager people who probably don’t even vote, waiting for the end of the Bush presidency. I guess these folks have a better source of information than me. Because according to them, all of America’s problems will instantly go away on the 21st of January next year.

Wow, that’s amazing!!

On the 22d, if I’m to believe the Sheeple, the economy will be on the upswing, gas will be a dollar a gallon, unemployment will cease, the mortgage crisis will evaporate and allow the housing market to auto-correct in a heartbeat, Social Security will be funded in perpetuity, and all troops in Iraq and Afghanistan will be home by the weekend.

What utter bollocks. (Yes, bollocks CWF!) That’s not optimism. That’s not even properly wishful thinking. That even surpasses fantasy and delves into.... padded rooms with Sarah Connor screaming in the next cell!!

Look, I get it. Americans on the whole are looking to be rid of an unpopular President Bush; I’m really not used to seeing a sitting President being so openly reviled by the nation. But no matter who wins it’s going to take a year or two to get us back on an even keel. I myself have never exactly been a staunch Bush supporter, but I’m also not so much of a starry-eyed idiot to think that all our troubles will be over on January 21, 2009. While the latest poll I saw showed Bush's approval rating at 33%, the latest poll for the Democrat-led Congress that I saw had their approval rating at a paltry and sickening 16%.

All the Bush Bashing and 1-20-09 countdown crapola has me seriously concerned about knee-jerk voting. So many people simply hate Bush that come November they’ll just blindly and ignorantly vote for Obama!

Regardless of who wins, George W. Bush will no longer be President in January. Voting for a Democrat ain't gonna hurt him. Not one iota. You’re not voting him out of office, people. He’s already leaving. Get that through your noggins.

So instead of voting for someone out of spite, make sure you’re voting for someone who honestly will represent your interests and beliefs. I personally will not be voting for the Democratic candidate, as I feel he is not qualified to lead me or my country.

You see Barack Obama, a first-term Senator who has spent a good part of his time in the Senate trying to become President. Congressional records show that he missed about 35% of the votes in the Senate last year. Senator Obama’s issues with Jeremiah Wright and his desire to sit & have tea and crumpets with Mahmoud Ahmedinijad of Iran leave me worried about his ability to lead much more than a pack of Boy Scouts down a trail & back without getting lost.

I’ll be voting for John McCain in November, it looks like, unless a legitimate third party candidate can actually get onto my state’s ballot and can accurately represent my interests. But so far, Johnny’s my man. He served two terms in the House before being elected to the Senate in 1986, bringing 26 years of experience to bear. He’s a retired naval aviator who flew over Vietnam and spent five and a half grueling years as a prisoner of war after being shot down. That builds a lot of character, character that you don’t always find when ducking Whitewater allegations or listening to Jeremiah Wright spew rhetoric for 20 years.

Granted, I do have some concerns over John McCain that trouble me. He’s a bit weak on immigration. Of course, the state he’s represented in Congress for 26 years borders Mexico, whose chief import is Mexicans. If he wants to appease the locals at home, he can’t really be seen helping Representative Duncan Hunter (R-CA) building a border fence. And it seems that he’s pandering to Liberals by dabbling with the Global Warming conspiracy crowd, but over all, I think that given what we have to work with he’s my best bet. I honestly, deep down, do not feel that the Democratic candidate represents my interests.

But hey, don’t vote McCain because I said so. Vote for who you believe in. Please, do vote, and encourage everyone you know to vote. Don’t let American Idol have a better voter turnout than the Presidential elections of 2008. And for the love of all things small, sweet, & fuzzy, don’t just knee-jerk-Sheeple-vote Democrat thinking it’ll hurt Bush. He’s past caring who you vote for.

I'm not say'n that I could do a better - Yea, I am say'n I could do a better job! An untrained monkey with poo on his fingers could do a better job! We (SC) have put up with this guy for to long. I'm just glad that Lyndsey can admit it too!! The people of SC need to remember to show up on June 10th to vote this guy out!
