GET3 Foundation

This morning 15 mins into my 30 mins commute, the radio blurts out the forecast with an addition; "Orange level ozone alert today.". Did I mention that I was in my car, driving, windows down, and the AC on high? Yep, I'm the reason that old people and children with no lungs can't go outside today. Yes, I did get some pleasure out of knowing that I have done my part to help prevent skin cancer. I do not need any parades. Buildings, schools, or airports don't need to be named in my honor. It is my mission/purpose to help anyway that I can. While I write this entry, my windows are up in my house. My AC is on and set to 65 degrees. The sun is shining through every window, but I still have every light on.

I give due notice: The GET3 Foundation has been formed, in partnership with your local power plants, to help prevent this epidemic of skin cancer. The mission statement is in the works. Power Point presentations are coming your way. A large add buy in major markets. Internet, news papers, and those index cards with the missing people on the back you get in the mail will be the start. We will not stop until we hit the "RED". So, start your engines and shoot the candle makers and help us prevent skin cancer.

In case you don't know what I'm talking about:
Ground level ozone, also known as smog, is a chronic Summertime air pollutant formed when nitrogen oxides and volatile organic compounds interact with sunlight during hot days. The main sources of NOx and VOCs are vehicles and power plants.

CODE ALERT. GREEN, Good Air Quality. YELLOW, Moderate Air Quality. ORANGE, Unhealthy Air Quality for Sensitive Groups of People. RED, Unhealthy Air Quality
